A talented artist, collaborated on this project with me. Our concept, and what we were both interested in exploring, was wearable, material art. Her brainchild was more specifically the images with plastic manipulation and body contortion, which were more about form. The identity of plastic discusses a foreign medium, one of flexibility and translucency yet suffocation. The body as mannequin, the skin as brand, the material as package.
For myself, I wanted to take a simple object and make it special. I designed the set and lighting to highlight the textures of these various materials, paying close attention to shadows and the shapes they form. My goal was to also create interesting poses, while the body interacts with the wearable art.
